BridgeView

Support

BridgeView lists the ships heading for the Blue Water Bridge between Port Huron and Sarnia, and alerts you about ten minutes before one goes under it, so there's time to get to the river. It's a gift to the Sarnia, Point Edward, and Port Huron communities; read more about BridgeView.

I'm not getting alerts

The countdown doesn't show on my Lock Screen

Live Activities need to be allowed for BridgeView in the iPhone's Settings app. Without them you still get a normal notification.

A time looks wrong

Arrival times are estimates from each ship's speed and course, and change as the ship slows down, speeds up or stops. Ships that stop or turn away drop off the list. BridgeView is for watching ships, not for navigation; see the terms.

A ship is missing

Ships show up when their AIS transponder is heard by our antenna or the data feeds we use. Small boats with Class B transponders aren't included in alerts.

Sharing a photo of a ship

On a ship's page in the iPhone app, tap Add photo to take a photo or choose one from your library. Every photo is checked before it appears, so it won't show straight away, and not every photo is used. Clear, well-lit shots of the whole ship work best. Photos must be at least 640 pixels on their longest side, and the same photo can't be sent twice. You keep the copyright; see the terms.

To report a photo that shouldn't be there, tap the … button on the photo on a ship's page in the app and choose Report this photo; we check every report. To have a photo you shared taken down, or to report one from the website, email us with the ship's name.
